Hi, I’m Carla.

What started as a relaxing hobby slowly became something I wanted to get better at. I began with simple knitting and sewing projects, then tried new techniques, different patterns and more ambitious ideas.

The more experienced I became, the more I noticed how often good making depends on good numbers: gauge, stitch counts, repeats, fabric, seam allowances, yarn and quilt blocks. I kept reaching for scraps of paper, notes on my phone and little spreadsheets.

So I made a few simple calculators for myself. They saved time and stopped me doing the same sums over and over. My husband thought other makers might find them useful too, and he built this website around them.
